| Sharon Lund's Special Accomplishments
Sharon Lund's life experiences of being molested as a child,
overcoming anorexia, the death of many friends and loved ones,
destructive relationships, living Positive with
HIV/AIDS since 1983, and her near-death experiences have brought
about wonderful and fulfilling opportunities. Listed below
are some of her major accomplishments:
Sharon has appeared on over 30 national shows including:
The Oprah Winfrey Show, 48
Hours, Prime Time Live,
and CNN. Sharon's speaking engagements
have taken her throughout the United States, into Canada,
Russia, Europe, and Japan.
After several years of extensive studies, Sharon became
a Metaphysical Minister. (1986)
As a healer and minister, Sharon became active in the
AIDS and cancer communities in Los Angeles. She taught mind-body-spirit
healing techniques, provided hands on healing to clients,
assisted men and a woman to prepare for their transition,
leave their legacy, and she felt blessed to be at the bedside
as they made their transition. She also performed their final
celebration of life. (1986-1994)
It is believed that Sharon was the first infected woman
in Southern California, to go public with her
story about living with HIV. (1987)
Sharon started the first Women's HIV/AIDS support group
in Los Angeles, California, at Sally Fisher's Northern Lights
Alternative. From there she was asked by Marianne Williamson
and Louise L. Hay to start a women's support group at Los
Angeles Center for Living. (1990-1993)
Sharon lobbied for the Dietary Supplemental Health
and Education Act in California and Washington, D.C.
She was also asked by Citizens for Health to share her personal
story with legislation. The Act was passed in 1995. (1994
- 1995)
Sharon was asked to join First Lady Hillary Rodham
Clinton, Barbra Streisand, Elizabeth Taylor, Bruce Springsteen,
Whitney Houston, Tom Curise and many others on stage at the
Los Angeles' Universal Amphitheater for AIDS Project Los Angeles'
Seventh Annual Commitment for Live. Over 6,000 people heard
Sharon as she shared her positive experiences living with
HIV/AIDS. (February 1994)
Because of Sharon's extensive work in the AIDS community,
she received a personal Presidential Invitation from President
Clinton to participate at The First White House Conference
on HIV/AIDS. She had an opportunity to talk directly to President
and Mrs. Clinton, along with other government officials. (December
1995)
Sharon received The Crystal Apple Award
from AIDS Project Los Angeles (APLA), one of the highest awards
given to an individual for dedication and commitment for the
betterment of the AIDS community and APLA. (1995)
PUBLICATIONS: Sharon has been featured numerous
times in publications such as the Los Angeles Times, Daily
New, Long Beach Press Telegram, TV Guide and numerous college
campus newspapers. Sharon and her daughter, Jeaneen, were
featured on the front page of the Los Angeles Times on Mother's
Day, May 9, 1993. Internationally she has been featured in
newspapers in Japan, Russia, the Netherlands, Canada, England,
and Sweden.
MAGAZINES: Sharon appeared in the July 1991
issues of Whole Life, November 1992 issues of Shape, December
14, 1993 issues of Women's World, and the London-based Women's
Own magazine, Awareness.
Sharon’s life story was featured in
the November 2007 issue of The Oprah O
Magazine.

CONFERENCES: Sharon has presented at conferences
throughout the world on HIV/AIDS, techniques to heal the mind-body-spirit
and spirituality. Listed below are major conferences that
made a difference for humanity:
Train the Trainers in Russia
Sharon was the only HIV-positive woman delegate invited
to help train Russian doctors, teachers, clergy, teenager,
and lay people on HIV/AIDS and assisted in setting up grass
roots AIDS programs. Ms. Lund and her daughter Jeaneen, who
was also an AIDS educator, volunteered in Russia. They taught
the Russians HIV/AIDS facts and skills so the participants
could develop their grassroots AIDS educational programs throughout
Russia. Sharon also spoke at colleges, hospitals, and HIV/AIDS
clients in Moscow and St. Petersburg. Topics included HIV/AIDS
prevention, abstinence, transmission, drugs, alcohol, STD's,
and the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of AIDS patients.

First International Pre-Conference for Women Living with
HIV/AIDS in Amsterdam
Sharon was one of 59 HIV positive women world-wide invited
to participate in this conference which led to the International
Community of Women Living with HIV/AIDS (ICW). Because of
Sharon's contribution at the Pre-conference, she spoke at
the Eight International Conference on HIV/AIDS. (July 1992)
Centers for Disease Control (CDC) AIDS Surveillance Hearing
Conference
Sharon was one of four HIV positive women throughout the
United States invited by the CDC in Atlanta to testify on
behalf of the expansion of AIDS diagnoses to include symptoms
associated with women living with HIV/AIDS - such as cervical
cancer/cervical dysphasia, pulmonary tuberculosis, recurrent
bacterial pneumonia, and the importance of confidentiality.
(September 1992) After Sharon's presentation the CDC included
women's symptoms in the AIDS definition.
SHARON'S LEADERSHIP POSITIONS:
International Center for Better Health
Sharon served on the Advisory Board of AIDS Education,
Prevention, and Training Program. (May 1990 - December 1993)
Women's Caucus of the AIDS Regional Board
As a member of the Regional Review Board Sharon helped
set up the first Women and Children's AIDS clinic in Los Angeles.
(July 1991 - July 1994)
Los Angeles County Health Service HIV Planning Council
Sharon was the first infected woman to become a member
of the Planning Council. She brought notice to the community
of the needs for women and children living with HIV/AIDS.

The International Community of Women Living with HIV/AIDS
A North America Regional Member, Sharon assisted HIV/AIDS
women throughout the world with resources, support, compassion,
and guidance. (July 1992 - March 1999)
AIDS Project Los Angeles (APLA)
The second largest AIDS Organization in the United States.
Sharon was the first infected woman to be elected to the Board
of Directors. (June 1993- June 1994)
The International AIDS Project
Based in the Untied States (Los Angeles), Canada, and
Moscow, Sharon served on the Board of Directors for six years.

AIDS Medicine and Miracles
A national AIDS organization specializing in conferences
around alternative therapies (healing the mind-body-spirit),
Sharon served on the Board of Directors and was subsequently
elected Vice President and then President. (1993 - 1997)
AIDS Task Force of Southern Utah
Sharon served on the AIDS Task Force in Southern Utah.
